Sadly, this was too short. There was at least twice as much story here, and the rapidity with which these two men get it on was too unbelievable. Cute plot idea, not so cute on the execution.
Jay, the good vet, was just too perfect and too understanding about Ben's hangups, and Ben, who'd been basically a hermit since the mugging that left him blind and the loss of his BF shortly after, first came out of his hole a little too rapidly, but then made a stupid assumption that created what felt like contrived drama.
I didn't buy the romance, because it developed too quickly, and the whole thing felt ... flat.
The writing itself is good and flows well, with good dialogue too.
I wish the author had given her characters more time to get to their HFN.
Also, awesome dog!
