Book Review: Maps by Nash Summers

Maps - Nash Summers

Not quite 5 stars but close.

Though, how can you not love Maps? How can you not fall in love with this geeky, socially somewhat inept 16 yo boy who'd like nothing more than for his friend Benji to not move a few blocks away and for not having to deal with new neighbors such as Princess Madame Sprinkles (aka demon child) and her older brother, gap-toothed hunky Baseball jock Lane?

With much humor and some very poignant and bittersweet moments, Nash Summers delivers an adorable YA short that I simply couldn't put down.

Excellent exploration of characters, especially for Maps, and the intricate mind of a super geeky teenager whose synapses fire a little differently than those of most others.

The book is adorable. The dialogue, the characterizations, the writing - all of it is superbly done, and I enjoyed this little book tremendously.
