Gah. Loved the story, didn't like the main character. Nick Valentine (yeah, that's really his name) is really a bit of an ass. He hates Valentine's Day, which I totally understand, but his treatment of "Fatboy" Davis, the bouncer at the restaurant/bar where Nick works as a bartender, plus his obliviousness was seriously off-putting.
I liked the side stories with the other employees, and was happy that they were given screen time as well, especially when Nick kept being a moron. And mean. And rude. And self-absorbed.
Why 3.5 stars, when Nick ticked me off? Because the writing was rather engaging and kept me vested in the outcome. Because I liked Davis. Because I'm a sucker for romantic gestures. And because my bleeding heart wanted Nick to have a happy ending, despite himself. Sue me.
Another new to me author, with a sweet, cute and fluffy novella. What's not to like?
